How to: Fix a Stuck or Hung Program

If you need to force a program to shut down because it’s unresponsive, you can hold down the Home button for six seconds. This should stop the program and force your phone back to the Home screen. If this doesn’t work, hold down the On/Off and Home buttons together until the phone turns off and the Apple logo shows up again. Let go, and when the phone finishes booting, you should be back to normal.

How to: Sync with Multiple Computers

If you regularly use more than one computer, you may have your music on one machine and your contacts on another; or you may have work contacts on your work computer and personal contacts on your personal computer. The solution to keeping all these things on your iPhone is simple. All you have to do is dock your iPhone with each computer, then check the sections (music, contacts) that you want to sync. You can choose music on one machine and contacts on another. Or, if you choose contacts on two or more machines, they will all be mixed together on your iPhone.

How to: Use Email with Your Computer and Your iPhone Simultaneously

If you’re checking email on both your iPhone and your desktop mail client, sometimes a message may show up only on your iPhone and not your desktop, or vice versa. To avoid this problem, you want to make sure your iPhone always leaves a copy of the email on the server when it’s accessed. Here’s what you do in the screen shown on Figure 14-2:

1. Open up the Settings application from the Home screen.

2. Tap Email.

3. Choose an email account.

4. Scroll down to the bottom and tap Advanced.

5. Tap the Delete from server option at the bottom and make sure it says Never.

By doing this, you can make sure that reading your email on the iPhone won’t affect your desktop email. You have to do the same thing on your desktop as well. Find your account information on your email client there and then set the option to either never delete messages from the server or delete messages when they’re moved from your Inbox. The second way ensures that you can still have two clients (your desktop and your iPhone) receive messages, but won’t have to redownload old messages when you’ve already removed them from the desktop.

Fruit Fight: Apple vs the Mango

Pocketnow has posted a comparison between Windows Phone Mango and Apple’s iOS.They have used  Apple’s iOS 4 on a 4th generation iPod Touch rather than the iOS 5 beta since the latter seemed to be too buggy for now. I got to look at the new Wow-Keys Keyboard this week, which is available for pre-order now.  It's possibly one of the coolest keyboards I've seen as it docks your iPhone 4 (in it's case!) then lets you switch between typing on your PC and typing on your iPhone 4 - all at the push of a button.  Plus it charges and syncs your phone whilst it's docked and even integrates your phone to be part of the keyboard, allowing you to use it as a trackpad or a number pad.  This is definitely on my birthday list!

iPhone v2.0 is out ! and it ain't just the software that's changed

That's right people, the iPhone 2.0 is here. What's more, it seems this time they might really have a winner ! The new is not only believed to be a slick 2x faster but also far cheaper. Because for all the features it packs the cost is a measly 199$ - and that's with the 8GB of storage ! Throw in another 100 bucks and you'll be the proud owner of a 16GB iPhone - in white - i'm lovin' it !

The iPhone 3G -- for third-generation mobile networks -- is designed for faster Internet download and longer talk times, and takes advantage of the high-speed network to provide GPS mapping built in with map data loadable over the wifi as well, according to Jobs. That's sure to take on the likes of the N95ers.

Attacks on the BlackBerry include, but are not limited to, the 2nd generation software allowing business users to send and receive Microsoft Exchange email.

Moreover the 16GB iPhone also has a color selection of Apple's favorite White theme with a price tag of 299$.

Another note on the form factor is that Apple has made a subtle change to the design that has allowed it to much more elegantly hide it's slightly higher thickness over the old iPhone. They've done this by thinning out the edges a bit ore than usual. Personally, I think it'll make the phone feel bulkier when you're holding it although it'll seem thinner at sight. But who cares when it's the iPhone you're holding !!!!!!!!!

Update from Engadget: Just bought an iPhone? Listen up: "Customers who purchased a 2.5G iPhone on or after May 27 and want to swap it out for a new iPhone will be able to do so without incurring an additional handset charge for the new device. They will of course need to turn in their 2.5G iPhone." And for the rest of you, AT&T says there's no way to buy it without agreeing to a contract. So sorry. More details here.
