Nokia PC Suite 7.1 released with built-in Communication Center

Version 7.1 still can’t match Ovi Suite in terms of multimedia handling, but in the most important part, phone management arena, it excels.

Aside from being more stable than previous releases, Nokia PC Suite now features the Communication Center built-in. In addition, there’s a new calendar view as well more tight integration with the phone, allowing users to manage calls and messages from the comfort of their computer.

All being said, we still want pieces of the Ovi Suite integrated in the “vanilla edition” of the Nokia PC Suite. Why on Earth it needs to be so confusing. A single PC Suite to “rule them all” is all we need. And I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen at some point in the future. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, if you want to download Nokia PC Suite 7.1,

Sony Ericsson G705 Launched !!!

Sony Ericsson isn't at CTIA Fall 2008but it launched a shiny new cell phone in London. The Sony Ericsson G705 offers a hefty crop of features in a slim slider design in both black and gold.
Inside you'll find a 3.2-megapixel camera that can capture YouTube-compatible video. The high-end shooter offers a load of goodies, including a digital zoom, a flash and video light, picture blogging, and PictBridge photo printing.

Other offerings include stereo Bluetooth, a music player, an FM radio, support for Java, a speakerphone, Wi-Fi, messaging and e-mail, USB mass storage, personal organizer features, 3G (UMTS and HSDPA), an accelerometer, a full HTML browser, a voice recorder, instant messaging, phone-as-modem capability, Assisted GPS, and PC syncing. And of course, it makes calls, too.

In all, that's an impressive assortment of features, and the 262,144-color display looks top-notch. In some ways the G705 has a lot in common with the Sony Ericsson G700 and G900, which the company launched earlier this year at the GSMA World Congress. But unlike its predecessors, the G705 does not appear to have a touch screen.

As a quadband (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) handset, the G705 should arrive in worldwide markets, the Americas included, by the first quarter of next year. Orange will get its own variant called the G705u. That will be Sony Ericsson's first phone to support UMA technology.

Sony Ericsson W980

Sony Ericsson just revealed the W980, the latest Walkman phone series that promises to get the most out of the music experience. Announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Sony Ericsson's W980 Walkman phone keeps the same line as its predecessors and has been designed to satisfy even the most pretentious multimedia needs. The new Sony-Ericsson W980 mobile phone doesn’t really look like a mobile phone, thanks to what the company is calling the “Walkman on Top”. The controls and display of the Walkman is placed in the front of the mobile phone, so you don’t have to open the handset if you want to switch tracks or check out what’s playing(on top?!). The W980 also comes with 8GB of internal memory (not bad!), built-in stereo speakers, and an FM-transmitter, allowing users to share tunes through an FM or car stereo. Finally, unlike the crappy earphones that comes with the iPod, Sony-Ericsson threw in a Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-77 headset for excellent sound and hands-free calling. There seems to be no disadvantages on this mobile phone! No word on pricing yet as you won’t be seeing the W980 till the third quarter of this year.

Looks like Nokia's going to be facing some real competition this time on with the W980..
With the sleek looks, and that awesome music playback, it's gonna be payback time for SE!
