HTC Rhyme - girly?

The latest slightly niche android handset brought out by HTC. The HTC Rhyme is styled for a slightly more colorful life which is why it is being touted as a female phone. This handset is causing a bit of a stir as it's being classed as a female handset because of it's color and the notification charm which lights up when you have a notification. Putting all that aside, it has a 1GHz processor to help you blaze through tasks; runs Android 2.3 OS (Android Gingerbread) and has a 3.7" touchscreen.

HTC Titan and HTC Radar

HTC have got two new mystical handsets coming out: the HTC TITAN Sim Free and the HTC Radar Sim Free - the TITAN being the HTC/Windows phone with the biggest ever screen and the Radar being one of the only handsets to be crafted from a single piece of metal!

The TITAN has a n ultra-slim body design (it's only 9.9mm thick) and a speedy 1.5GHz processor, which when combined with the massive 4.7" display makes breezing through apps and programmes easy and a joy.  Camera wise the TITAN houses an 8MP camera, with an F2.2 lens and BSI sensor, so all your images will be of an extremely high resolution - meaning you can show off your snapping skills and impress all your friends with the quality.  We're selling the TITAN for £509.95 and we predict we'll have it in stock early October.

The HTC Radar also has the impressive F2.2 lens but uses a 5MP camera instead.  Where the Radar does shine though is when it comes to social media as it is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter - so you'll always be connected with your friends and see their latest status updates.  The Radar runs Windows Phone OS 7.5 (Mango) and has a 3.8" touchscreen, so like the TITAN it's speedy and handles multiple apps easily.  Both handsets have entertainment at their core with apps like HTC Watch, Zune and Xbox LIVE all available, so you've got access to movies, music and gaming at your fingertips.  We're selling the Radar for £334.95 and we predict that like the TITAN we'll have it in stock at the start of October.

iPad case - etch and sketch

the etch-a-sketch iPad 2 case - GearZap will be selling this product and we're the first people in the UK to be selling it :) They'll be selling it for £34.95.
Protect your iPad 2 in retro fashion
The case is really eye catching and quirky and personally takes me back to my childhood (I never was very good at making pictures though :/ I kept forgetting they'd disappear if I shook it!) Not only does the case look good but it contains all the cut-outs needed to keep your iPad 2 fully functioning and even has a little kickstand to allow you to use your iPad 2 at an angle.  All you need to do now is download an etch-a-sketch app and you've got a new toy :D

Nokia brings out a gold phone

The final handset is for those of you who like a bit of 'bling' (I hate that word :/) - It's the new edition of the Sim Free Nokia C3-01 but this one is the 18 Carat Gold Edition which gives the handset a real premium, expensive look.  Luckily for the Nokia C3-01 the handset doesn't just look good, it actually performs!  It was the first Nokia handset to incorporate both a touchscreen and an alphanumeric keyboard in it's design and packs a 1GHz processor to help you storm through your work and complete multiple tasks at once.  There's a 5MP camera housed in the handset and more features for gaming and messaging than you could shake a stick at.  The Nokia C3-01 is a great handset so it's no surprise to see another edition of it being released - this one being sold for £209.99

Wi-Fi Hotspot for Blackberry devices

Indeed one of the primary negatives about the blackberry OS has to do with it's premium data plans and the fact that this data plan can only be used on the phone. But now with all the drop in sales for the blackberry devices with all the Crackberry people for alternative phones the father company RIM has decided to add in wi-fi hotspot functionality.

A memo leaked to Sprint employee states that the BlackBerry 7 OS based systems will be able to get Wi-Fi Hot Spot on their phone only after next major software update and it also emphasizes on the responsibility of the Sprint employees to educate users about the statement on the side of the BlackBerry Torch 9850 which says that the phone is “Hot Spot Capable”.

Motorola Droid Bionic

It's a very good handset and holds the distinction as the sole option on Verizon to provide both LTE and a dual-core processor, which is a compromise you're forced to make with the carrier's other phones. It also features an excellent high-resolution display.

The Droid Bionic has pitiful battery life so if this puts you off (and extended batteries aren't your cup of tea), you should take a good look at theDroid Charge ($300). It features excellent battery longevity, along with an attractive Super AMOLED Plus display and a superior camera - at the loss of a dual-core processor, of course. Finally, if you want a quality smartphone without the insane price tag, the Droid X2 ($200) provides a good value with a faster Tegra 2 CPU and a thinner enclosure -- although, the lack of LTE connectivity is a frustrating omission.

Budget Phone in Focus

This Budget phone is one of the most ValueForMoney phone available in the Windows Phone series available in the market today. And it's called the Samsung Focus. With a slender price tag of just 50$ this handset is available from AT&T in their budget selection. The Samsung  focus runs on the 1GHz Scorpion CPU with Adreno 200 graphics.

If you are an Android Phone and avoid all things Microsoft like the plague, then you could also try out the Samsung Captivate. The Captivate comes with similar specs featuring a 1GHz Hummingbird.

A truly Google Phone might be on the Horizon

Google Chairmain Eric Schmidt said that Google bought Motorola for more than just patents at the Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce.
He also shared that when Google announced the plan to acquire Motorola for $12.5 billion , many believed this was due to the patents Motorola owns as this could protect Android from the  infringement lawsuits it is facing. The people cannot be blamed for this as many hardware makes praised the deal saying it would “Save Android”.
We did it for more than just patents. We actually believe that the Motorola team has some amazing products coming….We’re excited to have the product line, to use the Motorola brand, the product architecture, the engineers. These guys invested the RAZR. We know them well because they’re Google Apps users … [We like] having at least one area where we can do integrated hardware and software.

Sony Xperia Arc is going to speed up now

Sony to speed up the Xperia Arc

Sony Ericsson has announced that it will upgrade its Android-based Xperia Arc smartphone with a faster processor. The Xperia Arc S’ processor is rated at 1.4GHz, compared to 1GHz for its predecessor. with this change, Xperia Arc is expected to get a faster camera start-up and 20% faster web page display according to Sony’s internal test.

The restatement is an outcome of the processor wars that have been raging in the smartphone market, according to Ben Wood, director of research at CCS Insight. But without a dual-core processor, the Xperia Arc S is going to have a tough time when compared side-by-side with other smartphones, he said. Other features and specifications of the phone are pretty much same as the original version that includes a 4.2-inch screen and an 8-megapixel camera. The Xperia Arc S will start shipping during the last three months of the year. Pricing wasn’t announced.
