Sony Ericsson Launches Xperia X1 SDK
Things appear to be better for the Xperia X1. Sony Ericsson has launched the SDK for it which means software creators out there can start inventing new Windows Mobile applications for the handset.
The SDK runs on visual studio so it will be quite easy for developers to start working on new apps. Testing them won’t require an actual Xperia X1 phone since all testing can be done straight on the PC where the handset is emulated.
The SDK release should suggest an official launch closing in soon. From what we know, Sony Ericsson has confirmed a Q4 release without suggesting any actual dates.
Sony Ericsson's been having a tough time lately, but there are still plenty of fans eagerly awaiting its Xperia X1 smartphone. Well, the company released an SDK today that should mean the X1 will be available soon.
One of the impressive aspects of the X1 is its gorgeous 3-inch touch screen that will have multiple panels for quickly launching applications. Today's SDK will enable developers to create these panels for different types of applications like music, games, e-mail, and more. The SDK's free and includes things like an X1 emulator, sample code, and Microsoft Visual Studio templates.
I've yet to get a hold of this smartphone, but it looks like the right size, and I love full-sized QWERTY keyboards. There will be built-in Wi-Fi, assisted-GPS, Pocket Office, and HSDPA 3G with up to 7.2 Mbps download speeds. There also will be a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording capabilities -- but I stopped caring about a phone's camera a long time ago.

Review: Nokia Mini-Speakers MD-6
The Nokia MD-6 is a portable speaker for your mobile phone but also for your MP3 player or Laptop.
The MD-6 comes in a grey, small and thin package with following slogan on it: ” My music, everywhere, with me”. I’ll come back to this slogan later on.
The MD-6 is a speaker with a candybar format. The two speakers are hidden and are hold together by magnets. This is a really cool features since these are portable speakers which need to be resistance against scratches, dust and so on. Once you opened the speakers you can see a little LED lighting up in a white colour . This LED reminds you that the speaker is on and is ready for using.
The speakers doesn’t look really nobly nor cheap. It is made completely out of glossy plastic or at both ends matte which looks due to the black-red colour really stylish and modern. The cable is approximately 73cm long and can be stretched out of its cradle when needed what is really convenient and handy. It has a 3.5mm plug which is perfect for the N95, N82, Mp3 players or laptops. More over you can find two Audio Adapter for 2.5mm audiojack ( E66, E90, E77).
The package contains:
Nokia Mini Speakers (MD-6)
Nokia Audio Adapter (AD-63)
Nokia Audio Adapter (AD-52)
Nokia Carrying Pouch
4 AAA batteries

Nokia 6650
Having the 6650 in the hand the first time I was really surprised of its build quality. Especially since the back and the front is made out of steel which looks nobly and stylish at the same time. Opening the clamshell you will see mainly black plastic on which you can find, from time to time, some fingerprints which aren’t to bad or to big. No doubt, the 6650 is solid like a rock. However, my test-device was shaking a little bit in closed mode when you touched the front or used the external display.
The 6650’s dimensions are 99.7 x 47 x 16.2 mm which is actually pretty good. When it’s closed it is really small and isn’t as wide as other models. If you open the 6650 it becomes really big but also very thin. I actually like its size. More over, it only weights 112 g.Just like every handheld nowadays the 6650 can playback MP3 files also.
The 6650 offers a lot connectivity ways. From GPS, HSDPA, Bluetooth, UMTS, GPRS, IrDA to micro-USB everything is under this sexy hood. Anyway, in the test Bluetooth works fast and great with the E71, my computer and also with my SU-8W. When you insert the micoUSB-cable into the 6650, you can choose between four modes - PC Suite, Data transfer, Image print and Media player. I usually use the Data transfer but if you like to have access to your internal memory you have to choose PC suite. Of course the 6650 can receive and send emails. The internal email client is good and easy to set up. Downloading the attached HTML file you can view the email just like you know it from your desktop; with all graphics and so on. More over, you can receive emails and with attachments like pictures, MP3 and other files.
Although the 6650 isn’t a multimedia device or flagship but a mid-tier device it offers build in GPS with A-GPS. Using the GPS and Nokia Maps you can see where you are or where you friend lives- either in map, map3D, satellite or hybrid mode. Furthermore, you can see how to come to the train station or any-other place. This all is for free but live navigation, which most the user are looking for, isn’t. You have to buy licenses to use Maps as good as possible. The GPS works good and in addition with A-GPS (Assisted-Global Positioning System) you can get a faster GPS-fix. It always depends on your location but you should get a GPS fix within a minute or even less. Nokia is offering a program called Sports Tracker using the built in GPS of the 6650 to give you information about speed, altitude and many more.
It offers 128MB internal memory and compatibility for microSD and also microSDHC cards. In the test my 4GB microSDHC card worked without problems. The slot for the microSD card sits on the side and is protect well, just like the 2.5mm audio jack, micro USB port and the power core. The internal 2.2” QVGA display shows 16 millions colors. The external display ( 128 x 160 pixels) shows 256k colors. By closing the 6650 you can use the secondary display.
Advantages:
Size
Build quality
External display
Battery
Disadvantages:
Small 2.2´´ display
Some S60 Feature Pack 2 additions are missing ( i.e transitions)

Nokia has announced its newest 3G handset, the 3120 Classic. This small candybar handset is based on the S40 user interface, and features an advanced music player and active standby screen. The 3120 Classic has a built-in 2 megapixel camera as well as a secondary front-facing VGA camera for video calling (where supported).
The 3120 Classic sports an integrated FM radio and a 2.5mm headphone port, as well as a microSD card slot and MP3 player. The 2.0" QVGA display is capable of rendering up to 16 million colors, and should make browsing the mobile web a pleasure. It appears there will be three different versions of the 3120 Classic, with different WCDMA frequencies for Europe, North America, and Australia/South America.

As well as having a FM radio, stereo Bluetooth and a 2.5mm TV/audio output connector. This means that the Nokia 7310 looks to be a capable music player, although it does lack dedicated media keys. Koss P9 - perfect for Mobile users on the move

The Koss P9 In-Ear Headphones with Volume Control features a convenient volume control feature that can be easily adjusted on the fly. Lightweight with a comfortable behind-the-head design, these headphones are made to be worn for long periods of time and are perfect for listeners on the go. Compared with the regular headset available with the N95 the Koss P9 offers almost the same output in terms of sound, but the added bonus is that it has much more stylish looks.
One of the other applications that I found for it's side-firing design is that it's more wearable than usual headsets when your on a motorbike - it's design is kind of aerodynamic that there's less chance of the headset falling off when you're at high speed. Moreover the side-firing technology means you're more likely to hear horns and other external sounds from your surroundings - leading to a safer experience. Obviously no one would use Noise Cancelling Phones when on the road - you won't even hear the Traffic Police man's whistle!!
On the other hand it's sound isn't that much of a reason to go for it. It lacks the bass that Koss advertises so much, and the some frequencies are really bad. Upon comparison with the Standard Nokia headset that comes with the N95 - the Koss P9 is somewhat 80% there.
Straight, dual entry 4 foot cord Plug 3.5mm
Impedance 16 ohms
Weight .7 oz.
Sensitivity 100 dB SPL/1mW
Distortion <1.0%
Cost: 9.99$

The secret of the (almost) lost N95 headset

Maciek from Chicago recently ran into trouble with his N95 headset when he sold it to his friend - apparently the headset refused to work because of the change in ownership and decided to be out on strike! Of course Maciek and his friend soon found a solution to this problem and in the end all turned out to well or as they say - all's well that ends well..
Read Maciek's post here.

95 vs 93i - The NSeries ShowDown!

N93i is a N-Gage 2 enabled and is great for gaming because of it's ergonomics (I mean the button orientation and build). As it is we know that the N93i is capable to run the major games like "Creatures of the Deep" and especially "One Who's Next", but we also know that One Who's Next require to use the both hands and it runs in landscape mode. So the N93i is the great multimedia comp for the N-gage 2 platform.
But unlike the N95, the N93i doesn't have:
1) Built in GPS Navigator
2) HSDPA support
3) 5 Megapixel camera
4) 3,5 mm jack
5) and a load of small features that the N95 has, like the FP1 for instance.
On the other hand we have the N95 which is a great multimedia computer as well. In terms of technology the N95 is way better and much more functional and smarter that N93/N93i, but the major problem with this device is its ergonomics. I mean the button orientation which makes it's difficult to play on. But it does have GPS and HSDPA and lots of other things.Personally if I think for myself I would buy the N95 hoping it will support the N-Gage 2 experience in full, by that I mean if it will run the One Who's Next game and other great upcoming games for N-gage 2 service in the Landscape mode. But I can't yet imagine how to play this games on N95, no actually I can but it will be hard with the number pad closed when I activate the landscape mode. Maybe I'll have to use a keyboard to play these games after connecting the phone to the TV. Then it'll be like a gaming console..Cool!! And guess what guys, i just got a message from Mobility Intl. that they'll be sending in one of their iGo Blueooth StowAway Keyboards for a test drive!! YeaH!!!
and did i tell you that the N95 is based on the great OMAP 2420 chipset with PowerVR enavbled and it's capable to run 3D games just like that?? learn more about it here.
Right now I'm happy blending these two into my life using the best of both.. :DPsst..vote in the poll on the left will ya?
